Welcome!

Since 1964, TRIO programs have been helping first-generation, low-income students prepare for and successfully graduate from College. Here at Sonoma State we are honored to be part of that impactful legacy! Pre-Collegiate Programs at Sonoma State is home to ten TRIO programs, including eight Upward Bound programs and two Talent Search programs.  We also host a National TRIO Priority 5 Training program.

Pre-Collegiate Programs serve over 2,000 students who attend partner schools in Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino and Napa counties are served by Academic Talent Search, Upward Bound, and Upward Bound Math and Science.

As a first-generation college graduate, I know the transformative impact a college education has on the students, their families and their community. I believe it is important to give our students the tools to be college ready and to advocate for their success inside and outside the classroom.

The Pre-Collegiate Programs team is made up of a strong network of educational equity professionals, whose aim is to provide information and services to families in SSU’s local communities to prepare K-12 students for college success. Please explore our website to learn about the various ways we help our students transform into higher education scholars!
